Take the door off the hinges by popping out the pins (if the pins are on your side).

Someone already asked a similar question. Here's the answer i gave him:
"Unlocked" means that the phone is open to all service providers. It can be used with any sim card.
"Locked" means its only for one service provider. For example the iPhone, it's locked to cingular only and if you unlock it, it can be used with t-mobile and other service providers.
"Unlocked-Cingular" means that it's unlocked, but branded with the cingular name. You can still any SIM card with that though. Hope that helped, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
So no it doesn't matter if the phone is unlocked or locked. If you had a choice i would go with the unlocked one. You get a higher price for unlocked phones if you want to resell, Good luck!
