There is no vacuum involved. It is simply the process of fluid being used to transfer motion. Fluid does not compress and when restricted in a line, the pressure applied to one end is transfered to the opposite end. In doing this, it allow you to actuate the clutch. When there is air in the line, it will compress and this does not transfer motion. Bleeding the system is time consuming being as that you can only displace a small amount of fluid with each application. With two people, one in the drivers seat and the other at the bleeder. Make two compressions of the clutch and hold the pedal to the floor. the other person will then release the bleeder and close it. Then re accomplish this over and over until the air is displaced. You are only moving about 3 inches of fluid in the line with each compression, so it does take a while. Be sure to monitor the fluid level through out this process so as no to allow air back into the system. Good Luck
